NDCWales Presents

Dance for Parkinson's Classes North Wales

Bangor and Wrexham ONLINE

NDCWales is excited to launch 2 new Dance for Parkinson's classes in Bangor and Wrexham in March 2021!

Dance for Parkinson's classes are fun and informal.

Dance has been proven to develop confidence and strength, whilst temporarily relieving some participants of symptoms in everyday life. Classes are creative and promote feelings of freedom from the physical and social constraints of having Parkinson’s.

We are an Affiliated hub of English National Ballet’s Dance for Parkinson’s programme.

National Dance Company Wales and English National Ballet will be providing more opportunities for people with Parkinson’s to take part in its high-quality dance programme online and creating two pilot hubs in North Wales, Pontio (Bangor) and Coleg Cambria (Wrexham).

We are currently running classes digitally, through a programme called Zoom, which you can join from the comfort of your own home using a laptop, tablet or smart TV.

Classes are 60 minutes long, and all you’ll need is a chair.

"The Lockdown has been very hard, as I was no longer able to see people and my family.  I felt isolated and my speech was suffering.  I found the Zoom sessions helped me reconnect and it was lovely to see Yvette and Helen and all the participants of our group. The sessions were very uplifting for me and I always looked forward to them.  You really made a difference."

"What a wonderful session and interesting concept for all working, living and dealing with people with Parkinson's. I am so glad I was able to attend. It inspired me to feel I would like to pursue dance more with people living with this condition."

- Parkinson’s Specialist Nurse

"It makes me feel I can cope better; I can walk better... it's the best medicine."
