Lee Johnston Associate Director As Associate Director I look after the artistic programming of the Company, inclusive of our learning and participation activity. As a choreographer, creative producer, rehearsal director, and performer I have worked with companies including Sydney Dance Company, Eleesha Drennan Dance, National Dance Company Wales, and De Oscuro. Whilst House Choreographer for NDCWales I created They Seek To Find The Happiness They Seem, now part of ArtEZ Institute of Arts’ repertoire, and Purlieus, which was voted a Telegraph Top 15 highlight. As Artistic Advisor I conceptualised P.A.R.A.D.E., a large-scale performance collaboration between Marc Rees, NDCWales, BBC NOW, Rubicon and Dawns i Bawb, and as a freelance Creative Producer, a 2021 Wales tour of Eleesha Drennan Dance’s Infinite Glimpse. For NDCWales I have programmed artists including Alexander Ekman, Roy Assaf, and Johan Inger, and curated the 2020 digital programme KiN Connected. Performance career highlights include working with Ohad Naharin, Christopher Bruce, and Nigel Charnock, and touring throughout Wales, Europe, Asia and Australia. I have a Masters in Management (Arts and Cultural) from the University of South Australia, and was supported by ACW to attend the 2017 Clore Leadership Emerging Leaders course.
