Last chance to see National Dance Company Wales’s exquisite PULSE|PWLS Tour this November in Ipswich and Cardiff Featuring Marcos Morau’s dazzling Waltz, and uplifting beats in Say Something by Sarah Golding & Yukiko Masui (SAY). After touring across Wales and England earlier this year, and performing a short version of Say Something to a crowd of 80,000 during half time of the France V Wales game at the Stade de France for the Guinness Six Nations Rugby Championship in March, National Dance Company Wales is back performing its exquisite double bill PULSE|PWLS one last time for audiences in Ipswich and Cardiff in November. PULSE/PWLS will also be seen oversees with a European premiere in Italy at the end of November. This is the last chance for audiences to see PULSE|PWLS which has been part of National Dance Company Wales’ NOW season, celebrating its 40th year. Audiences so far have been ‘wowed’ and ‘dazzled’ by the stunning double bill which features the mesmerising dance piece, Waltz, created by award winning choreographer Marcos Morau. This is the second time Marcos Morau has worked with National Dance Company Wales. His first creation, Tundra was part of Parade in 2017 which saw him shortlisted for the UK Dance Awards in 2018. His second piece, Waltz is haunting, sumptuous and razor-sharp, calling for almost inhuman precision, followed by a much more joyful visual and sonic feast of movement. The music takes you on a waltz journey from Valse Triste, Op 44. by Jean Sibelius through to Crawler by Holly Herndon and Pneuma by Caterina Barbieri. “Waltz is full of Marcos' trademark razor-sharp physicality. It is full of sumptuous design, the dancers are head to toe covered in sequins, it's mysterious, it's exhilarating, it's a really powerful experience for an audience that takes them through some of the greatest musical Waltzes in history.” Matthew Robinson, NDCWales Artistic Director The second half sees the dancers create a vibrant upbeat dance experience. Say Something was created by Sarah Golding & Yukiko Masui (SAY) working with Welsh beatboxer Dean Yhnell and UK Beatboxing Champion (2008) and producer, MC Zani, making a relentlessly physical, visual and sonic feast, that makes the whole room want to get up and move. “Audiences can expect to see the NDCWales dancers flying across the stage in full bodied powerful movement. Sarah and Yukiko are passionate about the music that moves them, and audiences can expect to be moved.” Matthew Robinson, NDCWales Artistic Director At all performances of PULSE/PWLS there will be pre-recorded audio description so that everyone can enjoy live dance. PULSE/PWLS will be at DanceEast, Ipswich on 3 November; Dance House, Cardiff from 9-11 November and 21-23 November. Following its UK dates, PULSE/PWLS will be heading out on its first European date to Teatro Verdi, Padova, Italy on 29 November. Box Office Booking information can be found at ndcwales.co.uk
