Dance Workshops

Higher Education and Groups

For higher education and dance groups.
Join us for an exciting and creative workshop which will be sure to get you energised.

We are a company that moves, in a nation on the move. Moving with ourselves, with others and with the world around us we seek to embody the ambition and imagination of contemporary Wales in all we do.

At the heart of who we are is dance and the deep held belief that dance can transform our lives and our world.

Whoever you are, we seek to enable you to do brilliant things, your way. We want to help you develop your unique ideas and skills, and to support you in living a healthy life. Together we will co-create extraordinary moments.

Dance workshops

A fun, physical and creative introduction to dance and movement.

Join us for an exciting and creative workshop which will be sure to get you energised. We’ll have fun exploring and moving our bodies, diving into the worlds of choreography and work by National Dance Company Wales. Our workshops can be designed to explore themes from performances, rhythm, space as well as ideas directly linked to the curriculum. In the session we will meet each one another, get creative, play and develop self-confidence and body awareness.

We will be pleased to co-design the workshop with you, bringing together what we know, what we’re excited about and what we need to inspire young people and get them moving. Alongside creative and physical content, sessions could also include learning material directly from our repertoire, moments for reflection and discussion as well as something technical to really hone in on core dance skills. These workshops would be ideal for those studying GCSE, A-Level and BTEC courses in performing arts, dance and P.E. Together we will be able to develop movement skills, choreographic and creative skills, performance and physical skills as well as physical exploration of character.

If your school is also attending a performance, these workshops are a great way to connect to the choreography and its themes before coming to a show.

Workshop length

We recommend your Dance workshop to be 60 minutes.

If your school requires a shorter or longer workshop, or a series of workshops, please contact us to discuss your specific needs and we will do our best to accommodate. We can also offer multiple workshops in one day.

Cost

£150 for one workshop

£225 for two workshops of 45 or 60min each in one half day

£300 for three workshops of 45 or 60min each in one full day
