Dance for Parkinson's Volunteer

“Being a volunteer for NDCWales' Dance for Parkinson's is joyful for the dancing, connecting, listening to and sharing life stories, supporting, contributing, belonging and laughing.”

Sally Varrel – Volunteer Dance for Parkinson’s Cardiff

We are looking for helpful and friendly volunteers to support and participate in our Dance for Parkinson’s classes.

In Partnership with English National Ballet (excluding Wrexham)  our Dance for Parkinson's classes are a fun and informal way for to discover the themes of our dance pieces. Dance for Parkinson's has been proven to support people with Parkinson’s to develop confidence and strength, whilst temporarily relieving some participants of symptoms in everyday life. Classes are expressive, creative and promote feelings of freedom from the physical and social constraints of having Parkinson’s.

Responsibilities of volunteers include greeting participants on arrival, helping to set up the space, and taking part in the movement session. A background in dance/movement or the health sector is desirable although not essential as training will be provided.

Classes run termly and take place in:

Coleg Cambria, Wrexham | Mondays 1pm (no volunteers needed currently)

Pontio, Bangor | Tuesdays 1.30pm

Dance House Cardiff | Thursdays 2pm

Awel Y Mor Community Centre, Porthcawl | Sundays 3.15pm

If you would like to be get involved or for more details, please contact Lucie

Please note: It is helpful if volunteers have either dance and/or health sector experience due to the nature of the classes.
