Dance for Parkinson's, Bangor

Angharad is a Welsh Dance Artist based in North Wales. Her practice is embedded within community arts and education and explores relationships between people and place. Angharad has choreographed and performed for Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru, National Theatre Wales, and Light, Ladd and Emberton and collaborated with choreographers and directors including Marc Rees, Julie Nioche and Filipa Francisco. Angharad is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy, regularly teaching at institutions across the UK.

Mold

After growing up on the North Wales coast, Angharad moved to Scotland to train at Ballet West in classical ballet and contemporary dance. Whilst training she gained valuable performing and touring experience with the schools company, touring Scotland and China with productions of Romeo and Juliet and Swan Lake. Angharad was also a member of National Youth Dance Wales as a student under the direction of Errol White, Theo Clinkard and Odette Hughes.

Jo is a freelance Performing Arts educator who helps schools and organisations in the delivery and development of dance and drama education through workshops, JPD and arts projects.

Cardiff

Jodi Ann Nicholson is a dance artist based in South Wales. Since training at Laban and studying Fine Art at Cardiff School of Art and Design her creative work interrogates the construction of the self and identity. Exploring these ideas through an autobiographical narrative as an adoptee. Movement, embroidery and textile installations give structure to her ongoing interrogation of the question: what makes up our identity?

Newtown

Rachel is an independent dance artist based in Wrexham, North Wales, and since graduating from Edge Hill University in 2017 has developed a career of performing, facilitating and photography. For 2 years Rachel was a professional dancer for Lisa Simpson Inclusive Dance and the Lancashire tour of Migratory, as well as being a freelance performer for Company Chameleon within Illuminate (2017) and The Shadow (2019).

Aberystwyth

I grew up in Aberystwyth before moving to Bristol in my teens where I discovered my passion for Street Dance. After later moving to London I discovered Breakin’ and joined a number of Street Dance crews where I studied different styles, such as House, Popping, Locking and Hip Hop. I also battled as a solo b-girl at events like Throwdown and Jumpoff, and performed at Breakin’ Convention and Set4Set eventually winning third place in London’s Best Dance Crew with my all female crew run by Kloe Dean.

Huddersfield

Sarah trained at Middlesex University and the University of Leeds graduating in 2009 gaining Qualified Teacher’s Status in a Secondary School the following year. Since then, Sarah has embarked on a career crossing community, education and performance sectors. Sarah worked as Dance Development Officer in Blackpool for 5 years, developing grass roots and progression opportunities for young dancers, allowing them to connect with professional companies and develop their creative experiences of dance.
